XSBA, what's your thoughts?
So stuntlife is now professionallife. This is getting too complicated to be fun. I personaly dont give a **** about the future of this sport. I dont care about my image, I dont care about competitions, sponsors, spectators, or opinions. I just wanna do wheelies. And I wanna do them on public roads with other people around. I like to slow down traffic and have cagers getting pissed at me. I like rolling stoppies up to every traffic light, even the green ones. Its boring riding up and down the track all day. F that. Its no fun if the cops arent looking for you.
Sorry about being "that guy" but thats my 2 cents.

brother if we don't take it off the streets, the image gets worse and the situation goes to hell.
If we don't have comps, then how the hell could we have the fun we do when we all show up for them.
One little comment about your pissing off cagers and how its no fun if the cops arent looking for you.............that's fine, but I don't wanna hear any bitchen about "that fuggin pig just gave me a ticket"
honestly...........you sound like one of those guys that I would never even think of riding with. That is what holds us down. Not that this makes you a bad person, I'm not saying that, but we need recognition for positive things, not thugliness! is that a word? lol

oh don't get me wrong, I know how to have fun with anyone (on a serious level) I think everyone can still be theirselves and put off a good glow.
I guess my classification of gangsta is different than most. When I say that I mean just all around fun without coming off as a jackass.
The suit and Tie comment was just a meddafore (SP) of sorts...........I'm just saying that I won't be a business salesman, I'll be the guy that sells it because everyone else sees how much fun I am having with it!

Good luck with all that BS riding on the street...sooner or later you'll realize that it aint worth it...Its really attitudes like yours that are really killin it for many others.
Dont get me wrong here as I have never attended a XSBA event and probably will never compete in one....Canada is far away. But I like many others luv being on one wheel and could careless if there are peeps watching or not. For me it is a personal accomplishment thing. But this year we did get some support from the local dragway guy and I tell you I have never seen so much interest generated. We started off with 6 of us doing closed session practices 2 days a week. Within 2 weeks that turned into a spectating event averaging about 100 spectators every Thursday night with about 20-30 bikes signed up and having some fun. Yes there were families there. The young kids luv it.
You know most of the dads were wishing it was them..
Also by taking this off the streets it showed the community that we are serious about doing this the right way (believe me the last few years Ottawa's streets have been terrorized with highway stunts, chases etc ) it wasnt long before the people started showing up. Even the local cops supported us by attending some of the events...This is the only way to get sponsors......Most of you are on the right track but are obviously being held back by a few non - believers. But keep at it as you will prevail.
For me the track (okay a couple of parking lots as well)
is the only place to stunt hassle free and thats where I'll be from now on.
Cheers
SK
I've never been able to attend a XSBA function but hope to in the future, I ride with about 20 different guys who like different styles. There is only 4 of us that actually are committed to getting better at stunting and in order to do that we had to take it off the street. We now have a place that is secluded from everyone. Ya the we will do a highway wheelie now and then, but absolutely no fu(king off in town. Everyone that rides with us knows the rules if they don't like, tough ****. I love my girl, my bike, my parents, and my job. Stunting is one of the best things to do in my spare time and a great conversation starter, too. Just look at how many people chat on here.
I'm tired of the whole process. Attach trailer, load bike, drive to track, unload bike. Then half an hour later I get to do some tricks. I get bored riding up and down the same old strip. Then I go through the trailering process again. Its annoying. I just want to ride around and do wheelies, thats why I have bikes.
Tickets: I get em, most of the time I deserve them. You dont hear me complaining, its all part of the game. I still love cops as much as the next stunter.

You the real truth of this subject is no one is wrong here! Look at the pro riders at the prostar events where most of them start? On the street. Where does the other 80% of them still race on the street. 10% of them are true pro's with sponsors the whole ticket! The other 10% just dont like to street race cause of a few reasons! The 80% are on the street racing! Some racers cant even race on the strip or dont even like too. The bottom line is everyone got into the sport racing stunting etc etc cause we like it or loved it! Yes there is always going to be people saying do this or dont do that! You wanna stunt on the street more power to you please be safe! You wanna stunt at events good luck! I dont tell anyone what to do or not to do maybe some good advice! But either way your going to have your street stunters and your events stunters! I say dont disrepect either of them! My advice is not to dis bitch complain about a team or XSBA giving the ones who want to be pro or take it off the streets! Also dont be hating on the XSBA there giving everyone a chance! to prove themselfs and show this is a sport and pro. riders not some kids on bikes causing trouble! Prostar gave us racers a chance and look what that has lead to for many riders! No one can say there doing it for this reason or that reason! About 5 years ago when it was held at rt.66 they didnt have XSBA but they had Team X treme there back when todd and lorrie ( i think thats her name) were still together so they been watching alot longer then most ppl know!!

as i browse through some of your responses it is clear that you are all content with what the stunt community has been offered by a multi billion dollar corporation. chump change.
anyone that KNOWS me will tell you i'm a serious rider, and if I was able to spend half as much time on my bike as some of the other "privileged" riders in this community, every one of you would KNOW it. I've done the math and if I, or you for that matter, were to win an xsba show I'd be lucky if to break even. peep dis
- 500 to 1000 for loss of wages
- 500 to 1000 for traveling expenses
seeing it as i make 1000 a week, and daytona is 1200 miles away. i'm SOL. it's not my fault some of you are willing to pay to be "superstars", you don't seem to be getting anything out of it, except all riled up when
I CALL ALL OF YOU OUT
this industry is plagued by so many things, it's never ending.
All of the sudden reality TV became a hit, now all the actors and actresses are out of work. chumps are taking their jobs, and not getting paid dick, just a moment of fame. i'm not compaining though, there's been great free **** lately because of it.
the cold hard truth is cold and hard sometimes. get used to it.
oh and Tim, make sure you walk up and "bitch slap" me next time you see me. i'd love that.

You're right Rodg, the payouts haven't been stellar yet. That is not even a debate. Payouts will get better though. The main point that I think you're missing is that professional athletes in other sports don't make most of their money from payouts, they make it from their sponsors. You have to put in work. You have to prove yourself as not only a skilled rider, but also as someone who would represent a company in a positive light both on and off the track. Competing at national level events gives you the opportunity to expose yourself to sponsors which will pay off in the long run more than the payouts ever will.
xsba needs an amature league. it's too hard to find pros. most xsba events only have like 4-5 people in them. there are a lot of us out there that aren't pro but are good enough to compete, so what do we do? just sit on our asses?
