No experience. but if they are welded correctly, i dont see how they could break under normal use

cisco5311 is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: good or bad idea homemade dcb

+1 if they are welded good, then you shouldn't have any problems.

If you used JB weld then that might be a disaster waiting to happen.......

Itll never be as strong as the billet ones. Everything from the size of the fillet to the type of welding wire can severely effect the strength.

So why do new gsxr frames just break at the welds? and suzuki has a dick load of engineers and cnc welders welding as close to perfect as you probably can and someone still made a mistake.

Its one thing if there is no options available its another if you are trying to be cheap and being cheap on your brakes is probably not worth it.

Not sure. dont know that much about welding, but i can lay a bead lol.

Im thinkin it had to do with temperature, and penetration.. but then like i said i dont know much, Except the Gsxr frames are def problematic
i would go with a Hohey bracket, just save up if you have to, learn foot brake

i may regret it but im leaning twords goin for it i dont think too much force is really going to be on the thing and the cost for a new bracket is too much for me 150 i dont have if i get hurt it will be a lesson learned

back around like 03, a lot of people did that, and theyre all broken now. Its cast aluminum, the worst kind to weld. The heat weakens the aluminum and they usually crack right next to the weld.

I think alum is hardest to weld because it will literally melt away from you.
