X-Games 2010
Re: X-Games 2010
thatd be nice if i was but if you search stunt park on here you'll see how many people came up with this great idea that got shut down when they realized:the cost of it - IE insurance, paving lots, rent/mortgage etc.
how to separate the squids from the people rockin decent wheelies IE liability
noise ordinances
etc etc etc
Then in order for it to be profitable you're gonna have to charge more money than broke *** stunters will want to pay to rock wheelies when they have lots they could ride for free. Again, itd be sick if you did it and congrats if you do but frankly, I dont see it happening. Just my
but good luck with it Re: X-Games 2010
haha, i don't mean to come across like a dick, ijust think the negativity is funny. everyone is entitled to their opinions. i just happen to be lucky enough to be a part of this thing from almost the beginning and the stuff i see and do and hear now is simply far beyond what any of us thought possible not too long ago.
thats the only reason i say that you guys know nothing...is bc i'm privy to some things. i DO know where xdl came from and where it is going. so, in the end you don't know what i know, regardless of whether i know you or not.
and i wont ever forget where i came from...the woods of maine...im appreciative of everythign ive been given.
i do this bc i love it, just like teaching, i just saw an opp. to make money and take a slightly different path than most. i'll always love the 'underground' aspect of it - i still kill it on my f800GS, just in a stealth way!
and 636squid, i never claimed to know you or anything about you....my comments were in general. you love the spot and your boys and thats cool, so do i, but that's not where it ends for some guys.
this whole conversation is like you guys swearing to me that corporate sponsors will never be on board with stunting while at the same time i hold a signed contract from BMW. you have your opinion, its just that, an opinion...one based upon what you've seen, heard, experienced, etc....and i have mine, based on those same things...and in comparing the two, i'll go with my take.
i've spent too much time on the comp today so i'm going to go grab my f800GS, rip some street wheelies, endo up to some lights, and then dip off road in between! braaaap!

Insightful and courteous... well spoken my friend
that is what no one ever gets.... we are all here for similar yet extremely different reasons... some of us will only ever rock highway wheelies, some will tear up parking lots, some will do both, and others will get fully signed contracts followed by sponsors. Then there are the haters... Its life... Re: X-Games 2010
Wheelies on the highway scaring the **** out of people (Starboyz, Adernalin Crew, etc.) doing stupid **** on video, I'm not negative just realistic. My outlook on the "sport" is that it's done by a bunch of guys who want to do what they want without worring about the consequences. (me Being one of them) I've done wheelies on the highway, why it's fun, but what if I crashed and killed a family. Starboyz and people doing stupid **** on the highway although fuun for us to watch, the general public who makes a sport mainstream sees us as a bunch of punks who have no regard for public safety. I'm not negative unlike you I have the ability to put myself in some one elses shoes, I have a 5 year old daughter and if someones doing wheelies next to me on the highway I'm in a way pissed, you never know whats going to happen and that the view most of the public gets. REMEMBER BEING REALISTIC!!!! And I absolutely love riding, been doing since I was 5, so don't ? my outlook on this hobby.

Re: X-Games 2010
Sorry, I disagree...... The people that are serious about this sport are trying to take it mainstream and keep it off the streets... For those who want to stay on the streets, more power to them... But some people wanna take this **** seriously and take it further than that.....

Re: X-Games 2010
I may be wrong but y is it that when i see pro riders in a vid tearing up the lot it is way more intense then watching them in comp??? plus i cant stand when the are stuck in a small area and cant execute sick combos with out worrying about hitting a barrier.
Re: X-Games 2010
i for one def think stuntin should not be on the streets. two summers ago my friend was wheelyin down the street when a jeep pulled out in front of him. he was killed. incidents like that is another reason this will never be "mainstream". you need to have a broad audience for anything to be mainstream. right now alls there is are rebelous teens and adults (adults who already are in into stunting) who are into this. here at school i mess around. some ppl think its cool, they leave it at "nice wheely" then they move on. everybody else thinks im stupid. but the ppl that think its cool rnt effected by it. they got theyre show and then theyre off to whatever. meanwhile some bitch in the 3rd floor is tellin cp im making to much noise. so yeah. your lot is going to be cool FOR stunters. nobody else is going to give to *****. if anything be alittle annoyed cuz theyre then going to think "great these ******* gonna learn how to do this **** hten go into the streets and cause chaos." it is what it is.

if yes tape it
