i've heard a lot of complaints about not havin a gas light(low fuel) after removing your gauge. even some that have run out of gas and crashed, maybe even gotten hurt.
so i was thinking of a way i could have some gauge light and came up with this.
its just 2 small leds i bought at radio shack. all you have to do is find the harness that the gauges plug into and use a red scotchlock to plug into whichever wire you want(i have one on "low fuel" and the other on "fi light"(to diagnose problems)) and the other wire(from the led) to any ground.
after that just epoxy the leds to the inside of the headlight and let dry overnight. your done! it would probly take the average person about 10min. no more runnin outa gas

for those without a wire diagram, i have one for the f4i and 600rr so just pm me and i'll let ya know what color wire you gotta tap into for the light you want. ie. gas, oil, fi, etc.

 

thats a great idea. I have thought about that but other **** comes up and I forget. Now I will go out and get'er done!...

yeah i was thinkin VP can, but ima gonna be ridin this thing to the spot and don't really wanna look like a terrorist carryin a giant can a gas on my back..so..lol
also, i ran outa gas on my 900 twice(once on the highway), cause i had to leave it on RES for it to run right doin wheelies, and i wasn't about to repeat that ****..i wish i was rich like you pros, so i could afford a trailer and another bike for the street and.... lol..you get the point

if any one knows which ones, has a manual or works at a shop and could tell me what wires are for the gas and oil press light on a 06 r6 (not s) that would be great

 

pry no way of doing this on a 98 zx6r, cause there is no gas gauge stock?

 

i would say no becuase you cant tap a light into a wire that doesnt exist.

 

cool, what color wires on the f4i? for both, the gas and fi light.

 

I tapped into the wire and it didnt work for me. I dont remember which one now but when I get home I can double check. From what I remember I think it was a brown/black wire or black/brown wire I'll post up when I get home
