want a gauge light!
Re: want a gauge light!
i got mike my electrical guy on it. i'll post up when i find out, but onewheel was right when he said black/brown, but the signal might feed through ground, so any ground might not work.
i'll get on it and post up soon.
also, i have been workin off a pdf. copy and the print on the wire diagram is really small.

Re: want a gauge light!
Yooo ppl!
So this is what I did to FI light:
I used a diode(not LED) with a resistor of 100 Ohm.
If using a diode, should know where is "+" and "-" on it.
Wires: black/brown "+" , white/blue "-".
Works only if killswitch is ON.

Re: want a gauge light!
So hello again!
I have good news!
Was working today on reserve indicator and it works now!!!!!
To make it work, you need to do the same as with FI light, in my previous post.
So "+" is black/brown and "-" is brown/black wire.
Good luck!

Re: want a gauge light!
so why does a diode work and not an led? less ohms
Re: want a gauge light!
Well sorry, but my #45 post is wrong, cant edit it too.
I figured out, that led will always stay on, with full or empty tank.
So I tried to put a small 12V interior light, which I bought in car accessories shop.
When my tank was running on reserve, the light stayed on, and after I filled a tank, there was no light!

Try to put a led with 100 ohms, and that will work.

Re: want a gauge light!
yo i appreciate all your help answering my dumb PM's lol. I finally after several failed attempts trying on my own have a working gas indicator light on my bike
It was soooo nice to see it light up today telling me I was low on gas
Only thing is I wanna get a bigger light so its more visible during the day time. Anyway
thanks again for your help
Re: want a gauge light!
i've heard a lot of complaints about not havin a gas light(low fuel) after removing your gauge. even some that have run out of gas and crashed, maybe even gotten hurt.
so i was thinking of a way i could have some gauge light and came up with this.
its just 2 small leds i bought at radio shack. all you have to do is find the harness that the gauges plug into and use a red scotchlock to plug into whichever wire you want(i have one on "low fuel" and the other on "fi light"(to diagnose problems)) and the other wire(from the led) to any ground.
after that just epoxy the leds to the inside of the headlight and let dry overnight. your done! it would probly take the average person about 10min. no more runnin outa gas
for those without a wire diagram, i have one for the f4i and 600rr so just pm me and i'll let ya know what color wire you gotta tap into for the light you want. ie. gas, oil, fi, etc.
