subframes dont even matter nowadays... they make em more brittle so that it doesnt damage your frame in a crash. wouldnt you want that why would you want a hella tuff subframe, and get your mainframe fucked in an accident?

we've been aware of that since the inception... but it takes a highspeed and usually a really hard impact to crack that thing open. just slapping it down and making a dent in the tank, you dont have anything to worry about. it is only right where the arm fold, and the yamaha symbol are, that if you have a highside, and that slaps the ground hard enough and fast enough to pull back that metal to make it thin, the friction from sliding makes it heat up, and it burst. thats if the fuel doesnt get to your exhaust, or headers or motor first.

that hard impact made the crack, and the fuel touched a hot enought part to engulf.

nothing a stunter would have to worry about.

I dont ride a r6 but i ride a 06 gsxr and to be honest I think the r6's will be the next stunt bike just based on the set-up of the bike.. yes they are focused on racing but mark my words in the next few year they will come out of the closet...

no few years to it homie.... there are a ton of riders on em now. in a few years the bike will be worse to stunt, it will be too powerful, and lighter, and have way more throttle response on it than it has now.

let things keep going the way they are, and you might be seeing a R8.

Re: r6 05,06 for stunt

Yea i hear that but to be honest there is so many things you can do to all bikes to make them more stuntable.... until the factories start getting on board and making different models... however Im sure ill be dead by that time and maybe a future son on mine will get to see that if we're all not dead and it doesnt cost 1000$ to fill up our streetbikes...

06-07 same exact bike, just a different speedo... and different colors. no change in preformance.

if you are torn between bikes nowadays it is just for looks... they all preform similarly. the R6 came in 1st on the track shootout, and the gix 4th or 5th. and the R6 came in 4th, on the daily driveable comparison. and the gix like 2nd.

it all comes up to what you wanna do. the gixer is softer and lower, the R6 is stiff high, and powerful as hell uptop. if your tracking the r6 leave the gix where it stands... thats the only domination tho'.

Thats all good and dandy if i was a racer but its gonna be used strickly for stunting bro... I dont care about top end and daily driveable might be important but I dont know what they are considering for importance?

I heard the 08's or 06-08's arent as Torquy down low like the gixxers.. a guy told me this that went from been a solid gixxer fan to a R6 guy..

06-07 isnt tourqey downlow... 08 is a monster.

all my friends have gix-6's, and they suck.... they have more tourqe on paper, but they Definitely dont feel like it. the R6 is just a so much better bike. both are useable for stunting on stock sprockets, but you just have to rev the pis out of both of em. dont let anyone tell you that they dont have to rev their gixxer... because that ****** slead reacts slower than nurses in the hospital waiting room.
