i will add my 2 cents... i will say that it does not matter which gear 1-2-3 but if you are gaining speed the whole time then you are not at the balance point... clutching it up quickly is a good practice if you are an inexperienced rider then the staggered stance is going to be a little un natural for you... also practice trying to cover the rear brake.... this is always good but like i said wether riding a stand-up at 5mph in 1st or riding one at 60 in 5th you must get to the balance point or you will always run out of gear and that is my 2 cents on that..........
