Sitdown to StandUp Transition
Sitdown to StandUp Transition
Hello Fellas, I'm always here reading, pretty much just absorbing all your knowledge and I'll been trying to get 1 up using your advice. I've pretty much got 1st gear clutch-ups pretty consistent in terms of coming up, I know is pretty much all about practice and patience, but at what point did you guys started attempting the stand-up staggered foot deal? (Which it seems the better stand-up position). I've tried ever now and then, is just I feel more secure sitting down right now. Is it pretty much the same concept? Go ~ 15-20 slip the clutch and give it gas?, or should I look for something extra when standing?. Again, I'm just getting her up consistently but not riding out far or to BP yet, should I just stick to sitdowns until I get to BP down pack or should I just also start trying stand-ups? I've got a stock 02 F4I, and I practice in a small parking lot. Thanks in advance.
Re: Sitdown to StandUp Transition
it all depends on how you start out, I started out doing stand ups and was never comfortable with sit downs. Do whichever one feels better until you really get to learn your bike and wheelies.
Re: Sitdown to StandUp Transition
I started with sitdowns and did them forever, and one day i just forced myself to learn standups even though it was uncomfortable. So get used to the wheel coming off the ground and then learn standups asap.
Re: Sitdown to StandUp Transition
I'm just a little bit passed where you are, I'm completely comfortable with sitdowns and just started getting into staggered standups when it got all snowy. My advice is to get comfortable on feeling it come up, until you are really comfortabel with that, then drive around standing on your pegs for a while and try driving around in a staggered stance a bit too.. you may look like an ***, but it'll get you comfortable.. then learn to clutch it up, a foot at a time.. get yourself consistent.
