I thought it was easier, and safer, to learn on the front pegs, then I moved my left foot back ... that's just me though.

I only use the rear peg, thats how I learned, i've tried the front pegs but it feels funky.

I learned on front pegs only. Then I switched to left foot on rear peg...easier on the arms for long wheelies. I haven't tried both on the rear yet though.

started off on fronts but now just use the left rear and right front to keep my arms from falling off. Its easier to steer on the fronts for some reason

Re: STAND-UPS front pegs or rear?

i learned with both feet on the back pegs...but my friend told me that having one up and one in the back (to cover the brake) would be best if i plan on learning 12s...

My wheelies wobble less with my left foot on the passenger peg. It is also much more comfortable.
