CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Yeah i think its 3/4" solid mounted in the bracket, in his latest video he tosses the bike and it flips/lands on the bar and its fine!!! So i'm thinking the tiny roundbar to support the subframe would only help **** like that more!! Im gunna have to measure and see how long it would be and maybe bend one up
Correction...... it's 5/8" solid steel, gotta find it and try it now!

LOL!!! I flipped that beast 3 times trying to get it to flip completely over. Got footage of it stabbing into the ground... The frame is stock, but stock welds were finished plus a few supports added as well. 12 bar can be changed out in seconds from 12 bar, hoop, or roller bar. All of one mount. Frame has been in use for almost 2 years now...
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
I just took a pipe and had a buddy hold the bike and pulled. It only has to come out a little.
I haven't tried anything with a longer bar yet, gotta pick up some more material this weekend.

Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Let me know how it holds up un-welded! Im not gunna be able to ride for probably another month atleast so i guess that makes you the test subject... out of the 4 i've made, 2 are in the mail, my bike is sitting until i can ride and my buddy is in PA this weekend. Although he picked it up by the bar (not welded) and loaded it into the truck to test it out and it didn't budge.
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
I think it should be fine. It's not like a normal 12 bar, so it shouldn't see a lot of action. In fact, the only time it should make contact is when something has gone wrong lol I'll gorilla slam it a couple times and get back with a review.
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Thats a good point, and i thought about that after i posted. I hope you dont have to test it but if it happens then you can let us know...k off to watch 50 nuts 2 now!!
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Ok, so this is what i came up with so far. I can make these for $45 shipped flat or with a bend at the black line for $5 more to cover the extra shipping since it has to go in a box instead of a flat envelope. I taped it to the fender so you can see where it will be once its inside the frame and how far it will go in. I can make them a little longer so they stick out farther or shorter so its closer to the fender, length doesn't cost any more cause it uses almost a full bar to make anyway. I put it in the vice and tugged pretty good on it and it felt pretty sturdy.

Actually i haven't riden it yet!! I bought it a month ago and had knee surgery 2 days after. I've just been building it up waiting for the day the doc tells me everything is good an i can ride again. I sold my last 50 in september to build up my f4i which is what i ripped apart my ACL on....i missed the fun of a 50 so here i am again!

[quote=bawlzout;4265770]Why would run both?
Super duty Subframe?

i would want to be able to run both because the 50stunt 12 bar is removable. and when i ride my bike at the go-kart tracks i would remove the 12 bar but would still like the round bar to be there to protect the rear sub and plastic

Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Just got mine in today. But I might have to order one of the longer ones too, just so I can have something for FIB tricks, when I'm feeling like them. Is the loop wide enough to put your foot in? Seems like it would be pretty narrow, considering it's roughly the same size as the fender and I think my foot is wider than that lol For now I'm going to stick with the one I got, since my main goal was adding some fender protection. Thanks again for hooking me up bro!
Re: CRF50/XR50 Subframe Round Bar
Its not wide enough to put ur foot in. Thats kinda why i though about bending it so you can put ur foot on it for support. Im gunna pick up a few more bars to bend up and mess with some ideas.
