Shake at about 50?

I have a 929 and the handlebars shake if I let go. It is not a bad shake but it is annoying. The dealership replaced the front tire and I thought it helped, but it came back like a monthe later. I just had it rebalanced on friday, but it is still there. I have a stabilizer so I don't know what else to do.

if you do stunts and stuff your front wheel could be dented or out of round...i would at a shop and i balance my front wheel every couple weeks and my bars shake at about 50 or 55 mph..its not a bad shake the stock stabilizer takes care of most of it...

mine shakes from 55-65. the rims go out of true from coming down out of a wheelie a lot. and the brearings in the head set get worn and cause exsess clearances that make thing shake at sertain speeds

if your not doing wheelies, then it simply low air pressure in your front tire. thats all it is. all bikes will shake like that around the same speed if or eventually when your front tire gradually losses air pressure.

check to see what your standard PSI is, I think it should be around 32 psi's.

add some air and go for a ride..you should be just fine.

alot of riders totally forget to watch there tire pressure...it effects handling a great deal ..but because tire pressure goes down slowely, you dont feel the change

Yeah, check your steering head bearings. I've seen a few with crazy ammounts of aluminum shavings from the factory. It screws your bearins pretty bad.

I had the same problem on my 00 gixxer. I let go of the bars and they would start to shake. It would increase from mild to violent. I just replaced my front tire. It was out of balance before. Now it is fine. If the wheel is OK then just get it balanced. If it needs to be replaced then it will be done when you replace the wheel. Now I can put the choke on and christ that biatch all the way down the street with no worries (I also have a damper... that helps too.)

Sounds like you have a warped rotor, or a bent wheel. Also check your wheels bearings, head set bearings. I would say that it has to be one of these. ( wheel Out of balance, low tire pressure, bent rotor, bent wheel, or a bad bearing) It shouldn't be hard one to figure out and fix.

Nesssssssssssssss

the shaking at around 50-55mph is nothing to worry about.
almost all bikes do that if you let go of the bar.
it kinda depends on the type of the front tire and how old it is.
so just check the bearings regularly, if they are ok - don't worry about this. unless of course it starts to shake even if you have your hands on the bar.
