CT 70 motor build up

I recently aquired a 70's CT70 complete, it shifts through the gears but has zero compression, It's either the valves are frozen or the rings are shot to hell.. what is the easiest/cheapest/best way to build this up for the CRF, will the ct intake and carb fit in the crf? I want to build this as a second complete motor so I can swap it in and out of the bike with the stocker...is there a kit to convert the motor to cdI? Is it really a big deal to not have the roller cam motor? Thanks in advance!

Throw it away and buy a CDI Lifan..... those older motors with points are nothing but problems. Spend the $$$ on a CDI.

Re: CT 70 motor build up

it would be worth more to just fix it up and sell then buy a whole nother motor. people collect those. depending on how good of shape its in, you could probably sell it and make a couple hundred bucks

I thought it might be better to use a honda basis for my big motor, are lifans really that good?

Re: CT 70 motor build up

is it a 4 speed manual clutch motor? if so, pull the tranny and clutch and put them on your crf motor.....if not, scrap it

Re: CT 70 motor build up

I have a ct70 manual clutch short block, dont know if the gears are good. You are saying that we can use the tranny to make my 91 z50r a 4spd manual clutch setup?
