what'll 6 years get you in the AF? Master Sergeant?

E7 in 20? you should set your standards a little higher. If i say in i'll make E7 Gunny in 9 with a pair of B-billits behind me. But, I'll probably get out a Sergeant or Staff Sergeant depending on how many 2831s get out within the next 2 to 3 years. (probably aot)

I'll only pick up Gunny if i do MSG (Marine Security Guard) and then a tour at Paris Island. Other than that, its a slow ride to the top.
Dont you Chair Force people pick up rank by taking a test? How hard can that be?

covert, what did u leave the corps as? Coming to the AF as an e-3 dont sound right for anything. Straight out of High School I came in as an E-3. I think 6 years f*cking sucks. I have that and I can't wait til its over. 6 years is too long a one shot deal. Go for the 4 year enlistment and tell them you want the same grade or higher as you were. Air Force doesn't sit at desks either, only the old ones do. I so happen to run around in a field and run huge *** wire all day. Every branch has their problems. Ohh well. :head

Only one. Basic Training will suck. I guarentee it. Thats its purpose though. Its breaks you down in order to build you up to work as a team. Best thing you can do is Get everybody you know and some you dont to write to you. Those letters were the only thing that got me through it. As for PJ school, Start swimming in cold *** water now. Thats what you will end up doing. They put you in hypothermia cold water and make you swim for a couple hours. Also you will have a skull on a stick, nobody could figure out what kind of animal it was. Former Guide ons carry it and you run everywhere in groups with packs on your backs. If you are not running you are wrong. Going Guard is the best idea I think. You get to have things and know you are going home. Just remember, if you dont stop swimming you cant freeze up. Good luck. Ohhh, yeah. No drugs, they do **** test you before you go and when you get there. But drink a :beer 2 days before u leave. You wont get any for 6 and 1/2 weeks. Drink water and like it. Dont drink the Gatorade, its not gatorade. Thats all I got. Good luck man.
