No Marty, He still has 80% of his leg.
Its just the opposite of what your thinking.
Correct me if I'm wrong Neal, they saved as much of his lower leg as they could right?
Below the Knee?

Re: Update on Ryan

yes, this is how the sugen explained it to us tue....... when they do a foot only amputions they leave the skin and tissue from the heal pad there to wrap up and around the bone. well in ryans case his whole foot was haning there by a tread so they couldnt do that. so what they did was took alil more of his shin bones out and used the calf muscle instead. from what i saw on tue after his opp. was that he STILL had atleast a 12" of his lower leg

Re: Update on Ryan

Thanks for all the updates guys. I have been passing them along to everyone Ryan works with. He was missed on the Fish Shocking Crew this week. We have all had him in our thoughts and prayers and are very grateful that he is making such good progress. Can't wait to get him out to help punish the deer and the ducks.

Re: Update on Ryan

Ok since it hasn't been brought up, does Ryan have health insurance or was the other vehicle involved assessed blame and has insurance? Just curious how high we should set our sights to help him out. Prosthetics and such are not cheap in any way. **** just the bills from my accident were upwards of 60 grand before insurance so I can only imagine what his are rolling up to.

Thank god for that! that means he will get the best possible care needed. I hate to say it, but with out insurance, you can be in some trouble. not just by the bills but but the care that is given.

Re: Update on Ryan

he is going to have to pay for some **** however. im sure the accident alone will cost him some out of pocket money.. along with flight for life. the deductibles on that **** are insane. this isnt going to be very cheap for him.

Exclamation Re: Update on Ryan

Oh ****! So as of now, he's forgotten that he lost his foot?? That's bad news because I was under the impression that he knew and was taking it well. Now I've got to go back to worrying how he'll react. But im sure he'll react the same way since he is still the same person.

Re: Update on Ryan

Ya he's not remembering much (short term) He asked me again today "What the **** happened?" We don't really speak much about the lower leg deal....Mainly just talking about the fact that we both have some titanium add-ons.. He seems to be reacting the same way everytime you tell him there was an accident... I think somewhere deep inside that foggy mess of a brain, he knows he was in a bad accident.... Things are good, no need to be discouraged in any way.... His progress is fantastic

Re: Update on Ryan

I'm happy to hear that someone was able to visit Ryan and that he is able to communicate. I hope things continue to improve. I am also happy to hear that he has health insurance, although I will still definitely be attending any fundraisers that all of you can think up.

Re: Update on Ryan

ya timmy its not a bad thing its jsut somthing they are telling us comes with the type of injuries that hes been thru.......you would be supprised of all the lil things from his past that he remembers. like the girl from riot radio that took pix of him in ohio and he chimed in on a few stores from when he and whitney and i partied all the time in whitewater........
