I think someone is trying to kill me

I went for a ride today just about home and my rear axle came out enuf to shift my wheel and lock it up . I almost **** myself! Now I know that the axle nut just didn't work it self off. It's a nylon look nut that I just wrenched on last time I road and I put them on pretty tight. I get realy **** about that kind stuff. Maybe someone was after my new pilat power I jut put on or just trying to hurt me ? Dont know why I realy don't do anything to **** people off.

Anyways just before it happend I was going pretty fast about 135 for sure it would of been a bloody wreak.

i had one loosen up....and FALL off, during fastest wheelie down at starboyz comp last year....i went a whoping 80 mph and came back and kevin was laughing at me, my axle nut fell off way back by the tree....if you don't have a cotter pin in it the thing will get either really tight or really loose.

Joel, F2's dont use cotter pins.

Only thing other than your thought that someone loosened it would be the nylon insert in the nut was worn out and vibrated off. Even he I think the axle would had taken a bit more time to work loose that much. When you get a new one, drill it for safety wire.

Yeah I think I'm guna drill a hole in my axle and use some wire like you said. I fortunately had a spare nut. It just dont make any sence how a nylon lock nut could work it self lose in ten miles of riding. On tuesday night at about 2:30 am I tought I heard somone pull over along my road and I hear the doors shut I live out in the country by the way. That night I had left my shop doors open all night becouse I was painting earlier that night. So was was alredy pretty supicious that somone was in my shop. So now I'm guna have to take a good look to see if anything is missing.

I have had nylock nuts come off of equipment before at work. You are supposed to replace them every couple of removal cycles. I would safety wire that sucker. I have seen multiple manners of securing them. some use e-clips, some use a keyed clip that you bend up once it's on. Either way I'd never trust just a nylock nut alone.
