**** Happend To My Boy Gsxr 600 He Took The Broke Valve Out And Has Rode It Like That For A Complete Year...!!!!!!!!!!

I Just Got Rid Of My Gsxr 1000 And Now I Got A 900 Rr Soo Much Better
And I Wont Have To Rebuild That Garbage Again !
Gsxr Motors Are Garbage.
Theres Hardly Anybody That Hasnt Had A Problem With Em And If They Havent The Eventually Will.

ihad my gsxr for 2 years
ended up blowing up a rod bearing
had to rebuild the whole engine because its inthe dead center of all the cases
i was down for 1 month this year
pissed me off
thatnk got i got rid of that ****.
i read another post here somewhere ..
its consistant .
gsxr owners alwasy have to fix there engines.
ill never own another one.

However, it is much easier / cheaper to fix than a spun bearing. You can get a new piston, wrist pin, head gasket and rings from ronayers.com and a head from ebay for around 500-600 bucks. When people blow engines from stunting, it is usually the bottom end that goes so heads are semi easy to find cheap.

I work at one of the biggest yamaha dealers in the southwest, the reason they wont cover your motor, was because of abuse. the minute you roll your bike in with a 12 bar, cages, rashed plastics, the service manager will right away make the decision not to cover it. my advise to you or anybody that focks your engines up...make em look pretty and proper when you bring em in,

oh yeah, and it doesnt help to bring your blown bike in with the drag racing tag still stuck on it from the night before, and loads of rubber under the fender doesnt exactly help your chances of getting it covered.

Buy blown(crank damaged) engine for spares. should be the cheapest way to fix it. Change piston/maybe cylinder block and head from that spare.
Opening motors is no picnic
been there, done that. Problem is that usually motorcycle manufacturers don't even provide oversized bearings, so It's not possible to fix the crank by machining. Also If the engine has been driven with broken bearing the rod big end goes oval. Even you can find bearings the big end is not round anymore. It can be machined round, but lot of work.
