I lost my key, and my spare and I'm doing a show tomorrow, how can I install a switch on my bike to bypass the ignition? I know it can be done, someone had this setup on his stunt bike.

btw my bike is a gsxr750'02

 

Why not get an ignition from another bike and plug it in ? I am no expert but it should work.

There is a resistor in the ignition, if I remember correctly. If not, hack your ignition since you lost the key anway. Can't be that hard.

 

there shudbe four wires if u take ur ignition off cut all 4 and get rid of the ignition connect the 2 red wires together, and connect the pink and blu wire togeher. hit the starter button and it shud fire right up.

Like Not Me said, there is a resistor inside most ignition swithches, so that if the wires are hacked and someone tries to hotwire your bike, it still won't start ( it will turn over however) as the ecm won't let the coils fire until it the circuit is completed through the resistor, feeding back the proper voltge reading. What works well is to take apart your ignition, turn the switch at the bottom of the housing to what would be the hot postion and leave it on. Tape it all up and run a switch on the hot wire (or a ground, whatever) and tuck it away somewhere.
