2nd gear wheelie on a 600?rpm?
2nd gear wheelie on a 600?rpm?
What RPM should I be @ on a 2002 gixxer 600 to keep get the front up more than 3 inches off the ground? I usually get it at like 7 or 8 and slip the clutch to like 12 or 13, is that to much? Should I start out higher before I slip it?
been a long while since i've been on a gixxer600, but you shouldn't need the clutch in 2nd to pick the front up, just bounce the pegs hard and open the throttle around 9k and voila.
(sorry my R1 riding-*** can't be of more help)

I don't clutch. I do like Adam said and bounce and do a standup.
I don't know exact RPM or speed, I just know what 'feels' right. But if I had to guess...:
Get rolling about 35-40 in 2nd gear. Crouch up so you're totally off the seat.
Roll throttle on about 1/2 to I guess around 45-50 MPH.
Once you hit "45-50," chop the throttle closed and bounce your weight down on the footpegs hard and then open the throttle back up.
I do this on my R6 w/ stock gearing (but jetted). My bike has high compression damping and high rebound damping which makes it even HARDER to 'bounce' (the bounce causes the forks to compress then rebound, which aids in the wheelie).
You can do this in 3rd gear, too.
Do NOT pull up on the clip-ons. That's a big no no. First, it will cause you to pull up the front wheelie crooked. Second, it will actually just pull your weight OVER the front of the bike making it even harder to wheelie.

easy ****
i had two gsxr's (both 6's) a 750 and now a 1...all you need to do is bounce it like they said it will even do it in third with stock gearing....i found that you could hold it btwn 80 and 85 and never hit the redline...it's easy just remember the back brake:helmet
