Making an F4i run without the headlight

I know it must be possible because race bike's don't have headlights. Every time I unplug the harness, it won't start... Do I need to loopback some wires or something? I have some old scratched plastics and want to try some crazy stunting, but without the headlight in. I don't feel like taking it out of my new (sharkskinz) fairings... The bike is a 2002 cbr 600 f4i
