Re: Acerbis Headlight Street Legal?
from my knowledge...the only acerbis headlight DOT approved is the cyclops i think...its the one with the big *** goofy looking light and the littler light beside it...all the rest are off road use only....but it all depends on whos inspecting ur bike...cops dont care...its a headlight....just the inspection guy might care cuz its not stamped DOT,,,,,,depends how **** he is about his inspection liscence

Re: Acerbis Headlight Street Legal?
So CHP pulled me over in Oakland the other day. I have a Cyclope on my CBR and he said I have to have the original, stock light. He also said aftermarket exhausts can't be louder than stock. I found the DMV regulation about exhaust but not about the light. Any of you know what's up with that?

Re: Acerbis Headlight Street Legal?
Looks like the CHP is right about the exhaust but wrong about the Acerbis Cyclops DOT approved headlight. Law states headlights are not to be modified. It doesn't say cannot install aftermarket headlights. CA and federal law states headlight must be DOT approved. Here's 2 links of the written law. You need to bring the Acerbis Cyclops, DOT approves documents to get it signed off as an error on the CHP part or better yet, take it to the judge to get it dismissed. Take the the 2 vehicle codes.
I live in LA and I'm about to install a Cyclops!
