Post Shifting while wheeling....help!

Hey Guys! I would like to know a good way to shift out of 1st gear on a sitdown and standup. Bike is geared, so I'm doing slower wheelies but I just can't shift out of 1st. If someone could give me a heads up on what I'm doing wrong. Cause I really hate coming down when I hit my rev limiter. I can do second gear but again I can't shift into third. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

SteveO

i have the same bike, geared as well -1/+3, i can clutch it up 1st-3rd gear. dont worry about shifting, clutch it up in 2nd and balance it out, u can ride it for days.. if your talking about highway wheelies, 3rd gear, keep your weight to the back of the bike, give it a bounce, and when it start coming up from the bounce, clutch it... i use left foot on the rear peg, right foot covering the reaar brake, its more comfortable for me that way... :YEAH

Wow don't make it sound too easy now! My only concern is clutching after I bounce it. I'm guessing you don't really get into the throttle after that right? I'm soo pumped I'm going to try it right now...if I don't reply, means something went wrong!

Thanks,

You should be able to bounce it in second and ride it for a while. I finally hit a mile on mine Sunday. Didn't realize that the balance point was so damn high. Of course, this is after a whole summer of doing power wheelies. Try leaning back a little farther, and cover your rear brake. You should be able to see your front tire right in front of you. I usually bounce it up at about 45mph. Good luck bro.

Oh yea, I got a 96 F3 with stock gearing.

Am I missing something? Lighter front end = higher BP? Lighter front end would make the front and rear equal at a lower height whereas a heavier front end like the zx-7r would almost be 12 oclock when the weight is distributed evenly.

i know that 2 of my friends with r6's tire is quite a bit higher than my friends f2, when theyre riding side by side. ive ridden the r6 and its a feather compared to mine.

probably more to do with overall weight location than frontend, i was drinkin ta other nite
