Re: my gixxer 6 just wont come up(help)

hey thanks everyone for the replies...ive been waiting this rain out for 2 days now and am dying to get out and put these tips to use. i think im gonna stick with trying to clutch it up since thats what ive been practicing, and thats what most people say is a better way to learn. beside..im startin to get use to that jerk after i drop the clutch,,so i think i just have to time my throttle with the clutch now...ill keep practicing and let you guys know how i do. since its been raining here ive been trying to find some clips of people clutching it...does anyone have a clip on hand????thanks again...... :YEAH

"Its almost like one fluid motion. Gas, Gas, Clutch in real quick, Rev up, clutch out real quick... one motion. KEEP THE REAR BRAKE COVERED!
What I used to do with clutching was completely wrong. I used to ride up to about 25mph put in the clutch, hold the clutch in and let it idle and then rev it to about 10k rpm and let it out, but it takes so long to do that process that by the time you are letting out the clutch the bike has kind of lost its momentum. You want the whole process to be one quick fluid motion. "

Thats such a helpful advice thanks.. how quick the whole motion has to be.. since noone has mentioned that before.. holding the clutch with two fingers ? one finger while dumping it.. sitting down standing up?

Ok 1st post on this new site for me so be kind :P

I own a gix 600 01 model and am only just learning to really wheelie as well. I do use the "on-off" method tho but would like to get the clutchin it up happing but just feels so unco I can stab it up in 1st then clik to 2nd then 3rd but im doin upto 180kph dunno think thats round the 110mph mark when she **** down. Is there any kinda help you guys could tell us as in how to control the wheelie better? As in like finding the BP easier. Like is there some kinda feeling "other then loopin it" that most of you feel? So It dont have to be like under power the whole time its in the air. Ive tried stand ups a few times but feels a lil weird spose it would 1st few times deeeer.

Thumbs up Re: my gixxer 6 just wont come up(help)

600 gixxer wheeling no problem it will come up if you romp on the gas in first or second. snap the clutch don't slip it. Cover the brake in case you gas it to much you can loop it, if you are not use to riding wheelies. Once it's up back off on the throttle just a tade to keep it floating then pulse the throttle to keep it up and going. If you are new at wheeling you might want to play around with some dual purpose bikes or dirt bikes to get the hang of it. Then start wheeling on your gixxer. It's cheaper to fix a dual sport if you wreck it.

Good luck :YEAH

Re: my gixxer 6 just wont come up(help)

its all in the clutch! i have an 04 zx6r so it might be a little different. i just started clutching and its so much easier and smoother. ive been practicing just first gear so i can get that down then move to second. all i do is get it up to around 20-30 mph, stand up, then roll on the throttle, not even a second later pull the clutch in and out smoothly but quickly, pull it in to the point where it disengages then right back out smoothly. i use one finger. this is all while rolling on the throttle. it should sound nice and smooth, a quick jump of the revs. if the revs dont get high enough it wont come up. so each time get the revs higher when u work the clutch. took me 10 minutes to get the technique down. its all about smoothness. if ur doing it right their should be no jerking, should be smooth coming up. dont jerk the throttle back roll it. its the best sound. you can always tell if someone is doing a clutch wheelie even you cant see them. i live near the highway and always hear people doin wheelies. you can hear the bike from mad far away, and when you hear those revs jump for a split second you know their on one wheel. just thought id share
