Need Help Clutching It Up
I'm getting first gear, sit down, clutch-ups, and I use four fingers.
My friends say they only pull the clutch in about halfway and they use 2 fingers.
I don't really know how far I pull it in.
I just "grip" it for a split second and slightly roll and hold the throttle at the same time.
It takes me a few times to get the timeing right but it comes up.
Is it the amount of clutch I use or the timeing that makes it come up better?
I want to try stand-ups soon but I don't have the "feel" yet.

Re: Need Help Clutching It Up
Its going to take alot of practice to get it down to a science... Dont be lazy like me and you'll have it in no time.. But just practice riding around and finding the friction point... Once you find that, you'll know how far the clutch will need to be pulled in to allow you to raise your rpms with out the bike catching speed. If your not getting it up high enough, either your not giving it enough throttle, or your not releasing(slipping/dumping)the clutch quick enough. Some people dump, some people slip... Its all up to you what method you pick...
And you dont need gearing or anything, it will just help snap the bike up quicker and at less speed/rpms.. You might look crazy doing this, but recently, I havent even been trying to really ride them out. I've just been trying to get clutch them up from a dead stop or slow roll and just get them up to the BP. Then once I get use to that then I'll start trying to ride them out for distance.
Hope this advice helps coming from a rookie biatch like myself(lol)..
Got alot of good help/info from peeps on this site. Now I just gotta get out and practice more...

You're gonna wanna go full throttle in first gear at 4000, ride it up to 6000, then as fast as you can slip the clutch and pin the throttle until it hits the rev limiter then dump it.
Also, stand with both feet on the rear pegs to make sure it comes up nice and quick.

ps - Don't cover the rear brake, you'll kill your fork seals if you mash it too hard, it's better just to dismount gracefully and take it like a man.

I'm not stupid dooshbag
Sounds like you tried that and hit your head a bit too hard.
Re: Need Help Clutching It Up
Pull in the clutch w/ one finger (not all the way, but to a friction point)
Roll on the throttle (not excessively at first, take it easy)
Pop out the clutch.
Just try and make it smooth and it works.
