What is a good "streetable" tire pressure for wheelies?
What is a good "streetable" tire pressure for wheelies?
Just getting comfortable on my '01 6R and have been practicing with decent results. "It's the first sportbike I have owned, but I can ride em all day long on a 250cc MX bike." I am looking to lower my tire pressure for the best balanced wheelies, yet retain streetability for taking turns at maybe 60-80mph. What are you folks here running on your bikes that one can still lean into a turn decently OK without having to think about going down. "granted your tires are hot"

Wats up man..like others say ..no questions are stupid..by takin down the pressure..it gives you and your bike a wider surface to work with for balance...like the Pontiac commercials say "wider is better"..if you have, lets say stock pressure it only gives you about an inch of flat surface with all the weight including you and ur bike all on the rear tire... by takin out some air..it will give you about 2-3 maybe 4 inches of flat surface..depending how low you go on psi's. If you look at some pics/videos, you'll see what i'm talking about..their tires look almost flat. Hope some of my Info helped ya :YEAH ..later~Brandon

That makes total sense. thanks!
I have been reading and trying several of the suggestions in this forum. I have a 87 CBR 1000 (Just restored this winter and converted the rear to a '96). It is a heavy bike, but i have confidence i can get it up to the BP. wish me luck! :YEAH
