Stoppies and Wheelies

New poster here with a R6... I've been trying for about a week to practice both Stoppies and Wheelies. The tool I am using is a 2003 R6...

I'm not sure if I am doing stoppies correctly or not. At first I was coming in at about 10 - 15mph, squeezing on brakes, locking my arms, and bouncing off the seat. Closer to 0mph I squeeze really hard and the back comes off the ground.

The other day I tried at about 30, and got the back wheel to come up at about 5mph, and rolled maybe a foot or two. Should not the wheel come up sooner? Or is that where increased speed comes into play

Anyway, I've been feeling comfortable with practicing stoppies because I can get the back up almost everytime consistently, so I am getting used to the sensation of it coming up. Wheelies on the other hand are different.

I've tried gasing the front wheel up, but I could get it up once in about 20 attempts. After a few days of not doing wheelies very well, I tried clutching it. Success on the first attempt- but not much more luck from that point on. For the most part, I am still a little apprehensive because I am not used to the feeling of having the wheel come up. On top of that I am shying away from practicing wheelies, because I am never sure when the wheel will come up.

I've been reading different threads on how to for this and that, but I have not seen much on one thread (usually I am compiling three or four threads to get the technique I am practice)...

So why doesn't someone just start a thread and have it sticky'd, and then folks could add on instead of searching and searching?

Just asking... and pardon my presumptuousness as this is my first post.

There are hundreds of people that ask the same thing. You just have to go read the posts. They wont sticky one post, because there are so many with different advice from different perspectives from different people.

I'm sorry, it's just that on other message boards I frequent- I find that "Sticky'd" threads contain the most beneficial information, cuts down on repeat threads, and saves time in going through page after page of threads.

Ok if you want one so bad, gather all the Info for these stunts and put them together and make 1 thread. Have some mod sticky it then....

If your wheel doesn't come up when you pull back hard on the throttle, you have a defective bike. Return it to Yamaha.

But seriously, you need to clutch it. It's more consistant than power wheelies. If you look around, you'll find detailed descriptions of how to wheelie and stoppie. I'm starting to think a sticky would be a good idea...
