on my 929 when i am in second gear i can get on and off the gas and it fine and shift in to second at high or low rpm and its still fine but some times when i i go to clutch a wheelie in second it slips and i have to let off the throttle to get power back... could this be a clutch or a transmission problem???

My '01 R6 does the same thing and it is a transmission problem. Yamaha sucks at making trannies but I dont know about the 929.

sounds like a clutch to me. Try clutching it up in 3rd to see if it slips the same way. Also you might try rapping 2nd all the way to the rev limiter if it slips out of gear it the tranny. Good luck

It definitely sounds like the clutch is the problem. The 929 doesn't have 200 hp but when you are slipping the clutch ... as in clutching it up ... the bike does have enough power to make the plates slip. I had a 929 before my GSXR but I never had this problem.

My opinion is ... try changing the clutch plates and/or checking the engine oil level. Did you change your oil lately? I know too much or too little oil will make the clutch slip. Check it out.
