I do not have a bike yet but im looking into a ninja 650r or a yamaha r6

I just have one simple question i cant seem to find online for some reason.

Lets say your in gear 3 and theres a red light up ahead, do you down shift on your way there and if so you go to gear 1 correct? or do you just brake once you get there and then downshift all the way to first? or do you just now downshift at all and just brake at the light

 

You usaully down shift to second then hold the clutch in you never really want to roll in on 1st because thats your pick up gear. Downshift to second then clutch in, hold, shift to first then in to neutral while clutching. Never roll in first.
