Ape hanger ????

I can do 12's standing and sitting I'm coming back soft and straight, but mt bike wants to wobble side to side and fall over. Even if I park it on the bar and try to scrape for a long way riding with both feet on the bar the bike still wants to fall over I know I'm smooth on the throttle and when I get up to speed on the bar I let the Idle take over so I know it's not that or body position cause I have tried eveything as far as that goes. How wide is everyones bar that is doing ape hangers and cliff hangers?

Re: Ape hanger ????

Oh and I ride a 03 GSXR 600 and it seems like my bar/subframe moves in a slight twisting motion even when its parked on the bar.. Is this a problem with anyone elses 03 GSXR 600 do I need to beef up the subframe in someway??? I have never broke a subframe so I didnt think it was something I needed to do.

Re: Ape hanger ????

My bar is 10" wide as well as my teammates, who rides a 2002 gixxer 750. Who made your bar? ...How far past your tail section does your bar stop? If it's too long , it wont be stable at 12(when you park it). My bar is about 1/2 an inch past and my teammates is flush with his tail section. We do bar tricks all the time. post up a pic and let me take a look at it. If your doing everything as smoothly as you say, then that is the only thing i can think of that could be wrong.
I just snapped that this is SHAWN. Give me a call butthole and I'll tell you all the tricks! lol

p.s. if your trying bar tricks on concrete it will dance from side to side like that. Find some asphalt.

Re: Ape hanger ????

I wish my **** would drag straight! My subframe is tweaked and we built my bar to compensate but it pulls to the right really bad when dragging.

Re: Ape hanger ????

brace up your subframe by bolting a piece to steel from your paggenger pegs down to your front pegs. PM lou brakant, he makes 'em.

quit yer bitchin!! try new england out for a while...it was forty here this weekend and all the new england crews were out!! lol jk

when you scrape, you still have to compensate and balance with your body, just like you would do when riding a slow roll sit down...dunno if you thought of this, but you should be able to drag on anything, although some tarmac is better than others....and all subframes when stock have a slight twisting to them when you are riding the bar and the edges are catching a bit...nothing abnormal there. i really think you need to put it on the bar straight and then balance it with your upper body....

I think so I can park it without any problems the only time I have a problem is after i have been dragging the bar for a few seconds and it doesnt do it right away.. I have the bike stable on the bar then it seems to start walking a few seconds after that. Tought brake on where you live man that's but it is raining almost every day here so its not really any better and yes summers here suck soooooooo bad

Re: Ape hanger ????

Just for anyone reading this post the asphalt was the key, but I did find that if you 12 at a higher speed on concrete you can keep it stable but i wouldnt do an ape hanger going that fast.
