Yeh Diz, what's up with that. I just literaly gave my SV away after the motor went and I couldn't find a strong one under $1800. Got the 1000S, but I'm afraid of the same problem. Any luck?

Did you get the version with the small screen or the naked one?
They said the naked version was less stable at higher speed down the twisties.
Never mind that and ride it like you just don't care!!!
Reason the nakeds are less stable, is cuz they don't have teh clip-on handle bars like the 650s (half naked) version. The clip-ons put more weight on the bars making it more stable, plus gives you a lower seating position, which makes it more aerodynamic. This is also why I put clipons on my GS500e... Cuz I would wobble the steering trying to sweep a turn over 90mph.. now I can take a turn at whatever speed I need=)

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

someone told me that I should get an SV, and that they're wheelie machines if you're not careful... Go figure... There's someone in my group rockin' an SV1000, but I've never really seen him wheelie the thing. I see him try to, but he's worse than I am, as he tries to pull the bike up like a lil' BMX bike.... then he powers it over, slams it down, and does it again.. Then again, I believe this was his first time tryin...

It's still runnin good. I can't believe it actually is working. SV are gret stunt bikes, just make sure you extend the oil pick-up some how. My oil light has not come on since the new fix!!!!!

wheeling a twin is a little different than wheeling a 4. The power band is at a different location. 4 is around 4-6 grand and a twin is off jump. tell him to stand up at rolling speed 4 or 5 mph and give it some gas (all in 1st), he'll come right up. at least that works with my 650, plus clutching it. I can now clutch it up in 3rd if I am standing.

fifth baby, fifth. Took me six months of commuting and one engine to get 'er up in fifth, stock gearing. I should have never got rid of it.
