Your balance point will be higher if you stand it up, and we have an Aussie forum here.

I thought the bike was lower during a standup because your body counterweights the bike? And, doesn't the balance point always stay the same while your body positioning and speed changes the bikes relationship too it?

I also think that the bp point is lower, cos your standing up. I do both way, but mayby it's easier to stand before you clutch. can't remember for sure, because of the ****** snow haven't been riding in 3 months

The way I teach it is to move your left foot to the back peg(it transfers more weight) and on a liter bike you just snap the throttle. Something smaller requires more weight movement.

I do it both ways it just depends on the bike and how comfortable you feel with it. Like they say start small and work your way up. Just try standing up and getting used to how the bike reacts whe your standing.

IF I'M IN THIRD I STAND UP FIRST AND THEN PULL IT UP. RPM'S AT ABOUT 9000. IF I'M IN SECOND I JUST TWIST IT AT 5,000 OR UP. THEN I STAND UP, IF I WANT THEN I SIT BACK DOWN AND CLICK THIRD. ON A 636 YOU'LL PROBABLY WANT TO STAND UP FIRST, BECAUSE ITS EASIER TO GET YOUR WEIGHT BACK SO YOU CAN LIFT THE FRONT HOOP EASIER! ON A 1000 YOU JUST HIT THE THROTTLE.

I don't clutch at all standing up, just bounce a little on the pegs and whack the throttle (starting around 6-8k rpms). I have a gixxer 750, but the three guys in my group who have 600's have no problem doing it that way either (a zx-6r included). One thing that helps (this may feel and look very goofy at first) is to stick your butt as far up and back as possible. This will make sure that your weight is back and not resting on the handlebars. No need to put the left foot back. Just remember, cover the rear brake and wear your gear!

I rock a 96 zx6r and I always have to clutch them up. Power wheelies dont work. No matter i like cluthin them up better. More predictible. Also even though i'm still learning I like to stand up first then pop them. But that is just me. Do u think if I jetted the bike I could get more torque to power wheelie?

The 636 came out in 03 Just wondering what you had
You can stand up first then clutch it up once you get more comfortable you can clutch and standup at the same time
Just keep practicing in will start feeling more comfortable

To do standups on your 636 just cruise around 55-60mph (I don't know what that is in KHM) bounce on the pegs and give it a fist full of throttle and it will come up. It will take some practice because you have to get your timeing right. When the bike is coming up from the bounce is when you give it some throttle. It will take a couple of times to get it but u will.
