I've been trying to shift, but I always end up having the bike come back down, so no luck for me yet.

I can ride 1st to readline in around the balance point. Getting more and more concistant about it to right before winter came. Now I gotta wait till spring before I can start trying again. Before I ever road a bike and I'd just see people doing wheelies and jack'n around. I always though it was so much easier than this!!! It definitly takes ride time to start getting it down, but its worth it! I get so less frustrated now that I'm more consistant. It used to **** me off because I couldn't weelie at all.

thats good that you are progressing. I used to get really pissed too when i felt i wasnt progressing.

But about the shifting, someone posted about that and said to shift when you feel the bike is coming up. Try to get the bike to come up fast so that it still has the momentum of going up and then shift gears. Do not use the clutch. off throttle quick, shift, then back on throttle.

Yeah! Thanks for the tip! I can shift without the clutch fine, but I havent tried bring it up and on the way up shifting it. That makes good sence, though. I've always rode it in first and as it get up in the rpms I'll back off the throttle a hair and then try to shift it, but no luck keeping it up yet. I think its cause of a little fear in the back of my head of shifting it and having it flip. I know it probably wont happen, but until I get more comfortable doing it, my mind wont let my body try it like that. I wish I lived near someone like you, cause it would be kinda more fun learning with someone else. Everyone I ride it is pretty safe and isn't into even remotely trying anything like that.

Re: wheelie help please

*UPDATE

I can wheelie decently in second gear sitting now. But i never reach balance point cause i'm still ending up going from 25-30mph and stopping at 60-65mph. I'm pretty consistent now tho and feel a lot more comfortable. I practiced for like an hour yesterday. Also when i do first gear, when i get it really high, it seems to wobble around. I'm not too good with the 1st gear wheelies still.

Practice makes a world of a difference. :YEAH

Hopefully i'll get it soon enough....I need to learn standups. It looks way too fun to be missing out on
