see what happens when you don't hede people's warnings?

i mean, no offense to you but i see tons of people on here saying "i don't have to cover the brake, i can slow it down without one" ya but that doesnt' save a loop. and yet tons of people say "cover it" and people post about wrecking. i'm sure some idiot is going to see this post and say "well, that was just him, it won't happen to me"....whatever, listen to good advice when it comes your way and learn from people's mistakes.

glad you are ok man!

yeah, my main problem with covering the rear brake is forgetting...

I've had a few close calls with 1st gear slow wheelies that afterwards I kick myself for a week because I didn't have the rear brake covered.

I've gotten better about it, but still forget sometimes when I'm showing off.

You get all in the moment and think you're the shiznit and throw it up and then go too far back and just throwing off the throttle isn't enough, and you sit there for a minute all the way up there hoping you don't loop.

Luckily I've landed them rightside up and looked like the man, but holy **** I didn't feel like the man! I felt like the luckiest MF on a bike!

I have a little mental checklist I go through now:
1. rev it up high enough to go higher than 6 inches
2. COVER THE BRAKE
3. give it gas on the way down to keep from kissing the tank

start working slow stuff....i don't even notice the rear brake anymore, it's an extension of my foot. it just happens when it needs to happen.

did you loop it as soon as you got it up in 3rd or after you had been riding it for a while. I just learned how to bounce 3rd up but they aint coming up that high cuz i have a feeling once you get that wheel past a certain point taht **** is prob gonna come up damn fast. I try to cover rear brake - i just hope i remember to use it when something goes wrong. you must have some nice scars - least you alive

when im not instigating but could this have happened...
you bring up third gear on your f4 ( which we all know aint cake like 2nd gear) you chased w/ alot of throttle 3/4-full throttle to keep it up and it goes higher slowly but once it got to like 10 oclock it just shot up??? ccause i know 3rd gear did that to me whenever i tried to bounce it up....... i ended up just doing 2nd gear shift to 3rd so i dont have to mess w/ all that other bs....... just wondering cause you know if you went up in slow increments w/ less throttle meaning your at balance point right off the bat..... i dont think you could of gone over w/out first realizing your slowing your wheelies down........ just a thought.... what do you think?
