How do you do figure 8s?
How do you do figure 8s?
Never could figure out how to do controlled burnouts. I get on the brakes and try to burn out but my front end starts vibrating like it's got ABS or something and the brakes just don't hold smoothly. Am I using too much front brakes or not enough gas? What RPM should you be at? Do you dump the clutch or slip it? A step by step approach would be nice, but really anything would help. Thanks.
ok start out standing up rollin slow with the clutch pulled like 5 or 10 mph, lean way over the front and pull the front break, while givin it some gas (mid throttle maybe little more depending on the bike) and slip the clutch, don't dump it. The tire will spin then give a little on the front break to let the bike keep rollin. keep your rpms mid throttle or so and KEEP YOUR WEIGHT FORWARD. thats probably why the front end is shaking. to start doin donuts turn the bars to the right and lean in to the left and that **** will start turnin. Have fun hope I helped
I dunno dude, that christ, no handed wheelie **** you're doing there would be hard to top.
Went to the industrial park today and tried to apply some of the techniques for the rolling burnout. Couldn't even come close! So frustrating. I know that if I got it once I could do it consistently.
I got the rear to break loose a couple of times but the bike would get out of control and I had to pull in clutch.
What do do you think? Too much front brakes? What would happen if I got the rear to break loose and I just let go of the front brake? Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

if you let go the front brake while the rear is spinning it'll pop right into a wheelie and scare the **** out of you. Don't try that til your ready cuz thats a fun trick. You just have to keep tryin and it will all come together. You are probably tryin to hard and focusing on all this **** at the same time and its fukin you up. Work on bein smooth...forget about donuts and figure 8s those will come, for now just go for rolling burnouts. Lean over the front and stay smooth, hang on to the brake and remember to pull the clutch if $hit gets $hitty. Have fun, lata
KC50, thanks for all your input. Yeah you're right, sometimes you just gotta go by feel. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but for lack of a video I will try to describe what happens:
1) I ride slow, get on brakes, start reving engine and slipping clutch, at this point revs drop so I give it more gas.
2) Then front wheel starts to chatter, so I try giving more gas to break rear loose, but yeah, now that I think about it, clutch is not totally engaged. Bike boggs drastically and sounds like a loud dying cow.
3) Rear breaks loose for a brief moment, but bike feels like it's gonna fly sideways. So I stop everything all together.
4) Bike stalls.
5) I hang my head in shame. My friends point and laugh.
Please help so I no longer look like a total ***! Thanks.
P.S. I won't ask anymore questions after this. I will just go out and do it till I get it right.

could be a few things. Whats the pressure in your rear tire? You don't want the pressure real low cuz there will be too much of a footprint and harder to break loose and stay spinning, try around 35 psi. Are you sure you've got your weight on the front end, putting most of your weight on the bars and not the pegs? You may not have the revs up high enough. Also make sure your letting up on the front brake enough for the bike to keep moving forward. No worries, you'll get it
I run my pressure a little high actually. LIke 38-40psi. I guess I'm not used to having my body so leaned forward. I'll put more weight on the bars. More revs. More *****. Thanks for the input man! Soon enough I'll have a video of my first rolling burnout or even better one of me crashing trying to do one.
