Skitchin is fake?

This guy was telling me that people who are skitchin aren't really doing what you think. He said it looks like they are rubbing their shoes but they are locking the elbows on the gas tank and supporting their weight so they aren't really rubbing the bottoms of their shoes on the pavement, he said they are really just barely above it....

Is this guy full of **** or?????

Yeah like nags & Soumy16 said. I do drag my feet on the road the bottom of my boots show that. But you don't have much weight on your feet.

I only skitch when the road is wet. Then I put most of the weight on my feet.

when i do this i try to keep a little weight on the seat still while keeping most of my weight up on the gas tank. i suck though... when i first did it i found myself hanging on for dear life until i was slow enough to start running and jump back on...

From the side, yes, not much weight. From the back it can be either. Some people hang on with just their hands to the tail and that's all the weight on your feet. Some people kind of lean their chest on the back seat to take up some of the weight.

I don't know about barely above the road, cause they definately touch. But your feet just rests on the road. barely any pressure being pressed down. Just sit on the bike and try it. put your feet down and barely touch the ground. Thats what it's like.

<--------------------i let my hip support a little wait on the edge of the seat, and use the tank....and weight on my feet

i'm hardcore, i used to just barely put my feet down, now i'm full on the shoes. When i get on the back i get all the way off, hold the 12 bar with my left hand and throw my right up in the air rodeo style. i'm on adidas flat bottom shoes and they work great. Here is a clip with 3 of us, tell me i was leaning when you see me hanging off the back of a guy hanging on.

the second guy was putting weight down, but he had to because of all the weight i was pulling backwards on him.

when I lived in FL. my old roommate would skitch, one foot on the ground and one in the air, and not resting on his tank, smoking shoes and all, leaning his bike to pass cars, I wish I had a pic. but most I see are supporting there weight, on there tank

Yea I put all my weight on the tank, especially when I'm not wearing my boots. When I have my boots on, I have metal plates on the bottoms that slide real easy so sometimes I'll put all my weight on them and even come to a sliding stop.. It makes it a lot harder to get back on when you do have all the weight on the ground though..
