F4i fuel pump problem

So the last time i rode my bike it ran fine started right up every time after dying. Now if you turn the key you don't hear the fuel pump, I hear the relay clicking but no fuel pump and it will crank over all day So I've swapped the fuel pump, relays, computer, checks obvious fuse's, and I'm pretty sure everything thing is plugged in. Prior to swapping relays, my buddy had some gauges to check the power to and from the relay and there was power going to the relay but none coming out so I was almost positive switching relays would fix it. I haven't had him check since I swapped relays. I don't where to go from here except maybe swapping the harness Is there an inline fuse somewhere in the harness I don't know about? I really need some advice

Re: F4i fuel pump problem

most likely a short somewhere in the harness, or something unplugged

lots of stuff will fault the fuel pump into not priming, it's a safety feature so if you get into a crash, and your fuel line is severed, your fuel pump doesn't pump all the gas out and cause a fire

Re: F4i fuel pump problem

I've seen an injector wire get pinched and stop the fuel pump from priming, as well as my bike my kill switch wire somehow broke inside of itself and wouldn't work so I had to solder it on the main harness to bypass it..

It could be a lot of things, unfortunately it's hard to diagnose even WITH looking at it

see if you have any check engine lights with gauges, if you have none, then it's gonna be even harder to find =\

Re: F4i fuel pump problem

you can't just wire the ignition with a toggle UNLESS you also wire in a resistor

one of the wires of the ignition have a resistor and it puts out "like" 7 volts
