You must have used energy conserving synthetic oil

Even then, I ran energy conserving fully synthetic car oil for 2-3k miles in my f4i, at around 26k, it never started slippnig, now I'm at aruond 40k

I run super tech 10-40 in my car, dirt bikes, and sport bikes.

btw I even burned my clutch out twice and got it to start slipping in my bikes life.. I'd just ride it normal for a week or two before driving fast or doing wheelies, and my clutch would burn the glaze off and work like normal
Most people I know that burn their clutch up, I tell them to drive easy on it for a while.. They'll drive easy 5 miles then go right back to trying to wheelie and just keep smoking their clutch

For reals though.....26 years ridin bikes with car oil in 'em....Castrol, for the most part.....NEVER a problem. I even have it in my Yamaha Raider.....rode to Havasu....no issues. Castrol FTW!!

It's usually moly added to the oil. Not all oils have it. 10-40 usually does not. I run Mobil 5000 10-40 with no issues.

Most manufacturer oils are an inferior product. You'd do better with car oil.

It's because it's a honda. The 50s are bullet proof. I know of other people who have run them without oil and even locked them up. Once they get some oil they run like new again.

+100, i feel your pain. Down here in Louisiana it gets hotter than 110 rabbits ******* in a wool sock........=-)

But on the other hand......I put full synthetic in everything i own. My 50's get an oil change every few months (i know thats drastic, but thats just me). My supermoto gets an oil change after every 2 rides. And i dont care if i just ride it 1/2 mile down the road to the store and back 2x........The 636 gets oil changed every 3K miles and ALWAYS after i do every track day. Dont care how many miles are on the engine oil. AFter track day, the oil is dropped no matter what...........I'm a little over protective of my toys, im sorry =-)

Naaah, thats just a 50 for you!

my friend heat siezed his 50 with a 88 kit 3 times, it'd cool down adn turn over again..

after hte third time, he pulled the drain plug, about 2-3 table spoons of oil came out.. refilled with oil ,and its ran awesome ever since

but yamahlube, and honda oil, every few years they get bids for oil from different companys, and the company produces say "1 million gallons" of oil in bottles with honda logos on them, and honda sales them..
Not to say its good or bad oil, but it's just regular old dino oil that's cheap to produce

We're talking about 4 stroke oil, not 2 stroke.

hell even on thumper talk, many many many people run automotive oil in the crank side or tranny side (or both) of their 2 strokes

hell some people even run ATF fluid in the tranny side of their bikes!

I run automotive oil even in dirt bikes, I change it all the time in the dirt bikes though, 3-10 hours of use per change
