954RR fork seals

954RR fork seals

how do i tell the difference between an 02 and an 03 954RR fork? the stealership says the seals are different for the 2 years but i cant tell which set i have.

There is no difference, here is the part number for both years. 51490-MCF-000. However there is a heavy duty fork seal that you have to specifically ask for. I don't know the part number off hand though.

well the dealers (keep in mind its a NON-Honda dealership) said the 929 and 02 954 used the same seals and that the 03 954 was the same as an 04 1000RR. either way they gave me the wrong seals lol. after buying these i realized theres a Honda dealer right down the damn street from my house.

Ironically I use the heavy duty Honda seals in some Suzukis. So many of the seals fit numerous bikes. Most of the time if you cross reference the one you have you'll find it can be found at any dealership as it fits a bunch of bikes.
