Question about Re-Welding a 954RR Exhaust

I've got a CBR954RR and for the past couple of years, the rear exhast mount (the one the goes to the passenger rear-set) has been broke. I drilled some holes in it and used some zip ties to keep it secured (and to keep it real!). From time-to-time, those zip ties would break and the canister would "float" a little.

Well the next mounting point upstream is just a few inches from where that pipe connects to the exhaust servo, and it ripped off of the pipe. It's a stainless steel pipe (I'm assuming, as a magnet sticks to it), but I know it'll be difficult to get that hanger welded back on into the exact same position so that everything bolts back up right.

So......

I've looked on Ebay and the cheapest solution is a whole stock system, starting bid $160 + shipping. That's a bit steep.

Qustion #1. Am I running any kind of risk running the bike like this, with this hole? Being that it's after the exhaust servo and not close to the headers, I wouldn't think so, but I'm interested in other opinions.

Queston #2. There is a guy selling a solid-mount for the exhaust can. It's just a bracket that takes the place of the passenger rear-set, but it looks like a real solid mount. Could I just have this hole welded shut and use one of those solid mounts to support the back half of the exhaust system? The broken mount that I would be eliminating is only a few inches away from where that pipe mounts to the exhaust servo (with 4 small 10mm bolts), so I'm wondering if it's even necessary?

Question #3. Anyone have a 954/929 mid-pipe laying around that they wanna donate to me, or sell cheap??

Thanks.

I'd simply re-weld that adding some extra metal to strengthen it. Take it to a local shop and if they charged you more then $40 I'd be surprised.

I also did a search on ebay and found a couple pipes for under $70 that would replace the piece you need.
