F4i idle help

For sone reason my f4i will not hold proper idle at times!! I have the stock idle cable and the secondary idle cable. Bike was purchased like that. I will crank idle up with secondary idle cable! I have not onced touched the stock cable! Seeing if I could get any suggestions to trouble shoot the prob! Bike will be at 3500rpm holding good idle~ once I clutch up and get into my circles the bike starts going up and down in idle so I have to compensate with brake and gas!any help please!!

Re: F4i idle help

thats quite normal,with the f4i...
here's some things you could fix,to try to make the bog, even less...
replace the fast idle wax unit..
new plugs.
fuel cleaner..
hope that helps

Re: F4i idle help

I checked my cables and there good! I kinda thought that might be one of the problems but I guess it was not. I'm gonna change my plugs and hopefully my idle will hold out were I need it to be!!

Re: F4i idle help

yep, what everybody said, also a bottle of sea foam from autozone in the gas every once and a while while help keep the idle more consistant and all the fuel system nice and crisp, that stuff works wonders

yea it should,,what it controls is the air/fuel mix....
what does your bike do when you start it up..does it warm up normal??,like does the idle start to go up to 2.5-3 ,then slowly work its way down??? when the bike is warmish...

For instance if I leave my bike at 3.5 or 4 grand from my last session and I go to turn on the bike the idle will start at like 2.5 then after 10 sec it will jump to 3.5 or 4 grand. Then idle will hold then fade hold then fade.

try to turn it off when not in use,, so it warms up normal...so this way you can see what your stock idle cable is doing...
