so the otherday i come home from the lot and i have a hard time starting my bike. and now every time it sits for a couple hours its hard to start. after it fires up it will start right back up, when it is running it seems to run fine. when im first starting it, just cranks and cranks then will slowly start to fire on one cylender, then a little more and a little more till it is running on its own....then gradually it will run stronger and stronger till all cylenders are fireing and running good. i checked pressure at the fuel rail and there seems to be good pressure. then i thought maybe the regulator was allowing the pressure to bleed off back into the tank, so i pinched the return line off and still doesnt want to start. then i put the gauges back on and the fi light is staying on. it does not blink it only flickers one time at the same time the fuel pump relay clicks, then comes right back on.....any of you f4i guys out there know how to get codes out of these bikes or have seen a simular problem.....please let me know what you think...... i dont want to ride knowing in the back of my mind im having a fuel issue.....much thanks....beardo

 

your tip sensor could be going bad....

 

i dont have one.....this bike is fully stunted

 

i have an idea...drive to the kawi dealer and trade that POS in

 

ok well check the paper clip thats probably by passing it..

 

I wouldn't think the tip sensor would kick the FI light or make it 'hard to start'

it would just make it start or not start

 

my buddys bike did the same thing...the paper clip was getiing loose and not giving enough contact....
but it could be something else though...i guess it all depends on the bike...

well either way you should at least cut and splice the wires, and what most people should do is solder their wires

 

i did solder them...there is no paper clip....i did notice when i flip the red switch to the off position the fi light goes off.... isnt there a way to make it blink and give me a code or something

so looks like at some point someone changed the ect or just had to splice in a new plug but they used butt connectors and two of the three wires had come apart....i guess they couldnt hold up to me chuckin my bike on the ground all the time...lol a little soldering and cleared the codes....now no light..yay!! now hopefully it starts like its supposed to.... ill let ya know and thanks for the help nukkas!!!1

 

yup..that did the trick!!!starts right up, runs like a champ again!!!
