front brake pad rattling

one of my front prake pads is rattling and seems loose on my 98 zx6r,i changed the pads ,still rattled ,thought one of the pistons was stuck so took the caliper off and cleaned and degreased all the crap off then re-greased pistons still rattled,bleed the line again to see if that did anything and the thing still f'in rattles! ,does anyone know what else it could be? any helps appreciated cheers.

you need new rotors (unless you happen to have full floating rotors, they rattle, even if there brand new)

yeah if u have floating roters and ur hearing chattering. grab the rotor and try to move it like u want to spin the wheel back and forth.

its discs not rotors but yeah i checked em ,didnt seem warped bent or anythin ,its like the piston isnt keepin the brake pad against the disc so its rattleing but it was moving freely when i cleaned and re-greased it .but maybe it is very slightly bent or somethin ,i got a couple of spare rotors so ill change em see if that stops it ,cheers anyway.

did you put the anti-rattle plate thing back on not sure the real name of it but on my 00 zx6r i broke one and my bike made a **** ton of rattle without it

yeah the little clips are on ,i just swaped em over and bent them a bit to put more tension on em ,its still a bit loose but better,gona see if that helped when im out later.if its them ill replace em.aslong as the brakes work its cool,just the rattlings getting annoyin lol .cheers

had a warped disc on my old bike and when the brakes were applyed you know it was bent, and it was just a slight bend too.
