Sup, the bike was running ok till I went to a show 3 weeks ago and there was hot as hell, newer ride in such a hotnes....so the bike started to bugin on idle ,the power on the gas is OK but on the idle works like crap.... then I put out the gasoline and put in the better gasoline(100), and it was ok for a day....then it started again, then i puted on the second fan on the cooler, changed plugs, cleaned the air filter and the fuel pump...Yesterday I was riding and it was ok for like 2 hours, I did the the burnout so the bike went hot I guess, and it started again....anyone got any ideas

 

IDK? my idle is kinda poopy too, no bog whatsoever,great throttle response,but the idle doesnt pull so nicely. Im gonna try a new pump too,since the fuel filter is built-in(I think), and probably needs replaced.



anybody know if the filter can be swapped without getting a new pump??????

You can replace just the fuel filter .

you say it wont idle without adjusting the second idle cable? Well scratch the second idle cable, adjust the proper idle cable to get it to run (the bottom left one)

If that doesn't make a difference, pull the gas tank and air box off, and make sure all your vacuum lines and sensors are hooked up


If it run's fine on top end, but dosn't idle right, I wouldn't think fuel pressure would have anything to do with it.. If it was a fuel delivery problem, it would be a lot worse on top end then low end




IMO though sounds like your not running a stock idle cable, it fell off, or it's not turned up enough.. I don't know why our bike would suddenly do that though.
Sounds just like my friends bike did, he never ran the stock idle cable for over a year.. Just used his aftermarket idle cable to keep the bike running.. But it also idled like **** and didn't pull good




also get some gauges..
Gauges are great, stop you from running out of gas for no reason, can monitor oil pressure so you don't push your motor hard when you don't have pressure, and can watch temperature to save motor damage. And also will show you what trouble code your motor might be giving you!

 

Of course its not gonna run if you turn the idle all the way down

 

it ran till now, I got the engine idle adjust at the botom screw, this one is second, for wheelies, but this is not the problem. the bike is boging on low rpms....

 

hey im having the exact same problem with my f4i... it just started the other day.. bogging badddd in low rpms even with my idle way up or normal... boggin so bad help plz.. got so bad i cant even ride.. any ideas on wat i should do to start diagnosing the problem.???

 

Today I solve the problem, STUPID, I put off the seat to checked the fuses and computer, I started the bike and saw some sparking goin on on battery, moved the computer and saw that the + is not screwed on battery enough.... after that bike runs normal

 

Easy fix atleast!

^ Last friday my was running like **** . Bogging , sputtering , etc . If you do not adjust that stock idle properly it will foul the plugs & clog the injectors . Pull your plugs to see what they look like . Zero out the 2nd idle & adjust stock idle to around 1500 rpm's . Do you smell fuel in the exhaust ?

 

i cant tell to be honest... dam so how do i do that stuff with the idle? and so should i just go ahead and buy new plugs and injector cleaner? appreciate the help;...

 

Let me start by saying i'm no expert on f4i 's yet, but heres what i did. Pull the plugs and read them ( note which cylinder each plug came out of ) incase it's an injector problem . http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/tech_su...qs/faqread.asp

while the tank is off back out the second idle screw until it no longer pushes the butterflys open . Replace the plugs & put everything back together & start the bike . Adjust the stock idle to around 1200 to 1500 rpms . Leave the 2nd idle alone . Put some good gas in tank & ride it for atleast 10 minutes . I didn't need to add any injector cleaner . My bike now runs like a champ !

 

i had that happen on my r6, changed the coils and it ran great.
