Clutch Problem. Please help?

K, So i replaced my Clutch friction disk's and springs. Got everything back together to relise that my throw out that connects to the clutch cable which in turn pushes on a spiral rod (just to clear that up) isnt engaging. No big deal, backed out the springs evenly making sure the spiral rod slides freely inside untill the throwout was touching. Button'ed everything back up. Put it in gear, pulled in the clutch and it doesnt take it outa gear. Ive adjusted everything i can think of adjusting to get it to throw out. And after about 5 times re-assembling the clutch cover im stumped....

Bike is a '94 Honda F2 btw. I assmebled everything just as it came apart as far as the disk's and basket go. Whats the deal? I gotta ride!

Just the friction plates. But Now that i have completely ripped everything apart again Ive come to notice that one of the very first steel plates I took off is severly warped and bent... How I did not notice this the first time when i re-assembled it i dunno. Or could this have happened from over tightening something? its just the one steel plate. all the others are fine.

bingo. I had a funny feeling that was it. at least you didn't burn your brand new friction plates. new steels and you should be good. too bad you had to take it apart 5 times.

i would take a real good look at the condition of all the other steels. I reuse the ones that are not chipped around the edges or discolored. If it's questionable, i'd replace it. Yeah, usually only one or two get a real beating and get warped.

Hondas do indeed rock. I was not even knowing until i got one. Although, my 06 636 has over 100,000 miles and I still ride it to work.
