Chain Length help?

I am going up 8 teeth on my CBR954, so that should be 51 teeth. Will a 120 link chain be enough for that size of sprocket? Thanks in advance

Anyone know what the best deals on chains are now? I want a good strong 530 xring chain.

Re: Chain Length help?

Thanks, appreciate the help. Dealership was trying to sell me some chain for 250 bucks, lol. Found tons of RK and EK 530 Xring chains on ebay for 100 flat, with free shipping. Most are 120 links. I guess that will do it for me then.

Re: Chain Length help?

here is how to get chain length, for instance, stock gear for the 954 is 16 in the front and 43 in the back. i dont know the stock chain length, you want to go to 51 teeth on the back, your adding 6 teeth, divide 6 by 2 = 3 plus 1= 4. that means you will have to add 4 links to your stock chain length. do you understand that?
good luck!
p.s. 120 is deffinatly enough.
