636 2nd gear is popn out

my 2nd gear is poping out. i just bought the bike from a buddy that i ride with he had went down on the bike and broke the clutch lever and the shift peg. i bought the bike from him threw the whole peg asmbley with shift linkage and a clutch lever and housing on it i took it out and its poping out of 2nd..

could it be that the shift linkage or clutch it not adjusted right? or is it some how a shift fork? it never poped out on him when we would ride......

also i noticed after taking it out that the oil is too full could that have anything to do with it?

2nd went out in my 636, it was the actual dogbone that got rounded off, so anytime you are in second and try to put it under any type of power, it just slips out. find you a complete tranny, split the motor and swap em out.

636s had this problem specifically the 05/06 if you shift them softly, don't be scared to bang the gears lol

def nothin with clutch, if the shifter moves freely thru out all gears, not linkage/detent/shift mech. if just 2nd gear, most likely the gear/and or shift fork..ship motor to me... fix for $300 plus parts
