bike won't start

had been riding with my headlights off for about 3 weeks, put them back on a few days ago, rode thanksgiving day for a few hours and didn't like how i felt, so i decided to take them back off, now my bike won't start, but the fuel pump is still coming on so i pretty sure i have the TIP sensor wired right?
here a video of how it sounds when i try to crank it

Re: bike won't start

the tip over switch wouldn't let the pump prime but im not sure from that clip if the noise im hearing is the pump ....

so i would check all the safety switches [tip sensor, kickstand, clutch ] and the fuses

Re: bike won't start

check the fuel regulator. mine went out and it sounded just like that! this is a pretty common problem on the f4i's

Re: bike won't start

i know another common problem with the f4i is the diode in the ignition going bad but i think that also wouldn't let the fuel pump prime ...

Re: bike won't start

id call you but in fucked up right now! haha.. the fuel pressure regulator is on the left side of the fuel rail. it kinda looks like the ones in our cars. ive read that if you unplug the vacuum hose or something like that and gas comes out its bad. some ****. OMR could probably chime in and give exact details.

spray some carb cleaner in your throttle boddies, if the bike tries to start, then you know your having a fuel problem. the regulator is on the left side, just follow the line from the tank. i believe it is held on by two 8 mm bolts!

i would just buy another one and put it on! im pretty sure its only two, 8mm bolts. you will leak gas everywhere, so make sure you have something to pinch off the fuel line when you take it off!
