F4i not starting when warmed up
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
i think some one was saying they thought it was an electrical problem not a motor problem but i can't remember who it was
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
srry i didn't wanna read the 10 pages....but i would
1. try hooking up a set of gauges and reading FI codes?
2. when the bike is hot and WONT start...take off airbox, hold throttle wide open and spray carb cleaner in all 4 butterflies (not too much to flood it)...try to start the bike...if it starts, get a new fuel pump and/or check ur injectors, injector wires.
3. keep a multimeter connected to the battery terminals and read the voltage before/during/after you turn on/off the bike...even when you're trying to start it...etc..etc
p.s. and next time, don't be afraid to show ur face in ur vids...and make sure you're hands are in the short when u flick off the camera.

Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
I swapped everything that everyone mentioned except for the starter clutch. Besides that I never swapped the complete wiring harness coz the motor was the only new thing to the bike. Everything worked fine prior to the motor cracking and doing the swap
Anyway, tomorrow I'm swapping the complete wiring harness and praying that works. If not, its going in to the shop
I'm going on 2 months without riding
I like to think that I woulda been killing circles by now

2. I'll try that tomorrow prior to swapping the wiring harness BUT before putting in the new motor everything was fine so I dont see why the fuel pump would go bad
The injectors were swapped twice with each new motor.3. Tested voltage w the multimeter - started with a fully charged battery and was reading in the low 13's high 12's - start the bike and it drops A LOT - I think to about 4 or 5 but then works it was back up to 14.x
And I'll keep my face off the videos coz its pretty scary looking
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
i just read all 10 pages and i cant imagine how pissed you are cause im pissed its not fixed yet.. its got to be fine after you change the harness, my old mustang did this same **** but it would die while i was driving the 15-20 mins later start right up... it was the tps

1. gauges are hooked up and no FI codes.

i dont see why a mix of harnesses would be a problem - the 05 & 02 is the same bike except for the tail section. the harness is different but from what i saw online, only because of how the tail section is routed. who knows though? ill swap the sub harnesses and if that dont work then ill swap the complete harness and pray for the biyatch to start. If not then dam this bike already

once it starts crack it wide till she packs it up.
