CCT question
CCT question
changed a few things on my bike.. plugs, air filter, manual CCT, and changed the front sprocket from a 15, to a 16 tooth.. question is.. now the bike bogs down when i go to clutch it up from a stop..and only from a stop.. if im goin 5 to 10 itll come up no problem and be fine.. only from a stop it bogs.. never did it before..
i can only see the CCT messin it up..hopefully.. so when i adjusted it.. i turned it untill the noise went away and then gave it a little more.. if the tensioner is to tight will it cause the bike to bog?? should i just turn it in untill the noise goes away then stop ?? any info would help

Re: CCT question
If you went 15 to a 16 your losing toruqe. You go down in the front and up in the rear..Did you put a stock air filter in or aftermarket? STock is the way to go. The main issue on f4i's for bog is vacuum hoses. Make sure #1 and #4 hoses are plugged into your airbox or you can plug them with golf tips or screws.
Re: CCT question
+1 on the front sprocket.
Try going back to your old 15 tooth sprocket and see if that is the difference you are feeling.
As far as your CCT, if it is too tight, the engine will bog down low. With the engine warm, tighten it until the noise quiets down and then go about another quarter turn.

the #1 and #4 hoses are plugged in.. should i leave it like that ?? or maybe unplug em from the air box and plug em up?
Re: CCT question
Whichever you want. The points on the airbox that the #1 & #4 vacuum hoses plug into are blanks. All they do is plug the lines preventing a vacuum leak.
Re: CCT question
well i always heard about f4i's have a bog down low & other more experienced people(ones who use to or do ride f4i's) have ridden my bike and have pointed other stuff out before saying anything about that bog i got over soo i guess its the bog i always heard about......
