f4i valves ?
so i was riding at the spot the other day and i hit a revlimiter coaster pretty hard when i brought it down i shut it off. Ok here we go so i start her back up and there is this loud ticking sound WTF man these things are bullet proof. So i packed up and headed to the house. Started it agian and no ticking noise till i rev her up then there it goes agian its not real loud anymore but just wondering what yall think i did ....floated a valve? knocked it off adjustment? what do i need to do help please
Re: f4i valves ?
Sounds like your CCT slipped a tooth or is possibly malfunctioning. When you have an auto CCT, and you wick the throttle open and snap off of it there is a strong possibility it will slip a tooth. 1st, try replacing the CCT first with an APE. (http://www.aperaceparts.com) 2nd, after you've done that, see if the problem is fixed. If it isn't, 3rd, you'll have to set your cams back to TDC (Top Dead Center) which will be a considerable amount of work.
Re: f4i valves ?
or you could have a broken valve spring or possibly messed somthing els up on the top end .
First before you buy anything , id pull every spark plug out and check each cylinder for proper compression . if that checks out ok then pull the cam cover off and check everything out including the cam chain tension and while the cover is off check the timing marks on the cams . hope this helps .

Re: f4i valves ?
if you need it, i have a complete 03 F4i head, all straight valves with all the hardware...even a brand new OEM Headgasket...lemme know if you end up needing it due to bent valves....
