How To Wheelie A CBR F3
I have a 96 F3 and i am trying to learn to wheelie. I have read that the clutch method is easier and safer to learn than the bouncing method. My question is which way do you prefer to wheelie and how exactly do you do it. RPMs and speed would be helpful. Oh yea my bike is stock except for a V&H slip on. Thanks for ya help.
I have a good friend named Peter that has a BEAT UP *** 91 F2, and I couldnt ride that thing for ****. but he kills it on that thing, 12's, you name it. he says the balance point on that thing is HIGH cuz its so tall and thin, not low and fat like a 900rr. i used to power up every wheelie with tonz of gas, cuz i didnt want to burn my precious clutch. Ive come to learn, F*CK that cluch, its a hundred bucks- who cares? you gotta pull in the clutch, rap the gas up to about 8 and dump it back out, all in one fluid motion. you probly heard it all before, but just my
good luck man
good luck man i have an f4 and i gotta say i tryed the bounce method and had a lot of trouble .. i started the clutch method and after a day or two i could bang out one after the other ... basically just like everyone else says ... when i got the bike at 5k i look far in front of me .. i find this doesnt make is seem like the bike is coming up so high and so fast ... if im looking close in front of me the bike feels like its gonna loop ... once its at 5k i pull in the clutch about a half inch rev it up to about 7500 and drop the clutch ... up she comes
I ride a '98 F3 myself, and I just started 2nd gear wheelies. It is definately harder on this bike than some of the other newer, powerful, lighter bikes out, but it can still be done, fairly easy. Here is how I learned...
1) Be cruising along in first gear about 5 mph, pull in the clutch, and rev it like you would real quick at a stop light... When the rpms reach around 6.5-7k, drop that clutch... up up you go.
The same concept goes for 2nd gear... just give it a little more revs. Good luck, wear the gear, and keep it up!
